DREAM AMSTERDAM 2007 – Spencer Tunick

"I get people to shed their inhibitions, basically because the people who dare to shed their clothing, are the ones who are interested in contemporary art and engaging in new cultural things, such as DREAM AMSTERDAM. Amsterdam was the most difficult city to work in, but at the same time, the perfect place to create one of my best installations." – Spencer Tunick

Spencer Tunicks Dream of Amsterdam
We commissioned Spencer Tunick as the artist for the first edition of DREAM AMSTERDAM in 2007. Two thousand people participated to realise Spencer Tunicks dream. In the early morning of June 3, 2007, they posed naked for the artist at different locations in the city centre of Amsterdam: Q-Park on Marnixstraat, Lijnbaansgracht and Leliegracht. Earlier on April 15, 2007 Tunick realised a secret installation in a tulip field in Schermerhorn. See more images here.

DREAM AMSTERDAM 2007 took place within the frame of the 60th edition of the Holland Festival. The opening on June 3rd, was realised in collaboration with Stedelijk Museum and 11. For more information see the factsheet here.
